Take a Bite out of your Jaw Pain

Picture

I just got back from another conference on jaw pain.  This course was through the Academy of Cranio Facial pain. They provide intensive comprehensive training for TMJ and headache treatments. I have taken several continuing education courses on TMJ over the past 25 years that I have been practicing. What was unique about this course is that they addressed the cranial nerves and how they influence facial pain/jaw pain?  It is certain that jaw pain can be very debilitating and hard to diagnose.  After treating hundreds of TMJ patients, I have learned  that most people do not know where to seek relief from their jaw pain.  Often by the time they find a physical therapist with specialized TMJ training they have already put up with their symptoms literally for years.   Often with the work of a knowledgeable dentist and a skilled PT you jaw symptoms can be alleviated. Here’s a simple plan.   Find someone who has years of TMJ treatment experience.  Let your dentist know about your plan they can work together with your PT.
